Forehead
The forehead plays a role in the symmetry of the face and the harmony of its proportions. A smooth, wrinkle-free forehead is often seen as a sign of youth and beauty.
Over time, the forehead can undergo several changes due to the loss of skin elasticity and the contraction of the frontal muscles :
- Forehead wrinkles and fine lines are the most common signs of aging.
- The forehead skin can sag and lose its firmness.
- Deep furrows can form between the eyebrows and on the forehead.
Nose
The nose stands as a key component of facial symmetry, influencing the face's harmonious appearance.
A balanced and aesthetically pleasing nose is commonly associated with attractiveness. Over time, however, the nose may undergo various changes, including changes in size or shape and the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles.
To correct these issues, fillers can be strategically injected to enhance the nasal contours.
Glabellas
The term "glabella" refers to the area of the face situated between the eyebrows, just above the nose.
This area is characterized by two frontal muscles, the orbicularis oculi muscle and the procerus muscle, which are responsible for facial expressions such as frowning and squinting.
Due to constant muscle activity, the glabella region is particularly prone to wrinkles and fine lines, especially the "frown line," a pronounced vertical line that forms between the eyebrows. This wrinkle can give the face a tired, stern, or worried appearance.
Through our processes, we can diminish wrinkles and rejuvenate your facial appearance.
Lips
Lips are key to the aesthetic balance of the face, playing a significant role in maintaining facial symmetry, conveying emotions, and adding a touch of sensuality.
Full and well-contoured lips are typically regarded as indicators of beauty and youthfulness. Yet, with the progression of age, lips commonly undergo a reduction in volume and hydration, which can result in them becoming thinner, developing wrinkles, and experiencing changes in pigmentation.
Our treatments aim to augment the volume of your lips, achieving the desired look you seek.
Cheekbones
Cheekbones are pivotal in shaping the aesthetic appeal of the face. They provide structure, offering a youthful and balanced appearance.
Prominent cheekbones can also highlight the eyes, making the face appear more vibrant and alert.
However, with aging, the face tends to lose volume, particularly around the cheekbones, leading to a more sunken and weary look.
How many sessions are needed?
Most patients notice visible improvement after one session. Depending on the treated area and degree of skin laxity, 2 to 3 sessions spaced 8 weeks apart may be recommended.
How does the treatment work?
After applying a topical numbing cream, the device delivers small plasma arcs that gently contract the skin point by point. Treatment typically lasts 20 to 40 minutes. Small superficial crusts form and naturally fall off within 7 to 10 days.
Is it safe?
Yes. PlexR® does not damage surrounding tissues and is approved for medical use. Mild swelling or redness may occur for 24 to 48 hours, but side effects are temporary.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Photosensitizing medications
- Active infection in the treatment area
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Healite II™ is often recommended after PlexR® to speed up recovery.
Results and timeline
Results appear gradually, with visibly firmer skin within 2 to 3 weeks. Improvement continues over 2 to 3 months as collagen production is stimulated.
Are these treatments suitable for all skin types?
Yes. Our technologies are safe for most skin tones. A professional assessment is always performed beforehand to adjust settings accordingly.
Is the treatment painful?
Most treatments are performed without anesthesia. Some may cause a sensation of warmth or mild tingling, but they are generally well tolerated.
Are treatments covered by insurance?
These are aesthetic treatments and are not covered by RAMQ.
Can treatments be done in the summer?
Yes. Certain technologies, such as LaseMD Ultra and Healite II, can be used year-round. Sun protection is always recommended.
Can I return to work after a treatment?
Yes. All of our laser treatments are designed to minimize downtime. Mild redness may occur but is temporary.
